Summary: Skilled salesperson responsible for expanding Barnhart’s market share and profitability in strategic markets that impact multiple branches. Through servant leadership, enhance the effectiveness of the field sales team and advocate for appropriate resource allocation to support customer growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Safety: Promote and participate in leading safety as a company value.
  • Market expertise: Become the company expert on market conditions, customer needs, opportunities, and targets within assigned strategic markets.
  • Strategy support: Assist in executing sales and marketing plans with clear objectives and tactics to drive volume and profitability.
  • Team coordination: Participate in regular meetings with assigned sales personnel, sales managers, branch managers, and regional directors to support goal setting, strategy implementation, and progress reporting.
  • Marketing collaboration: Partner with the Marketing Department to support campaigns, sales tools, and value propositions tailored to the assigned markets. Assist branches in executing these strategies.
  • Customer engagement: Help present Barnhart capabilities and join sales calls with key customers to build relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Performance tracking: Support efforts to track market penetration, growth, and profitability.
  • Competitor analysis: Monitor competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and strategies to help shape Barnhart’s market approach.
  • Sales support: Serve as a communication bridge for sales activities in assigned markets, including coordinating sales assignments, proposal efforts, and customer interactions.
  • Coaching and development: Assist in coaching branch sales personnel to improve sales effectiveness and understanding of assigned markets.
  • Reporting and representation: Represent the assigned markets to the Director of Market Development and senior management to report progress and recommend adjustments.

Preferred Experience:
  • Five to Seven years of experience preferably in industrial sales, construction, manufacturing or professional services.
  • Developing new customers.
  • Producing professional technical and commercial proposals.
  • Communicating Value Proposition with high Closing ratio.
  • Collaborating with Execution teams.
  • Using Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or sufficient experience required.
