Position Summary:

The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires leadership, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and outside vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee maintenance staff and contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Perform routine inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.

  • Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal building safety and health codes.

  • Oversee and participate in snow removal, landscaping, and general grounds upkeep.

  • Monitor and manage maintenance budget, inventory, and supplies.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to support resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living setting.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call for emergencies.
